Since 1999, KRS has been owned and operated in Twin Falls, a bustling commercial metropolis for the south-central Idaho area. Often regarded as the “City of Waterfalls,” Twin Falls is renowned for its scenic landscapes along the Snake River Canyon, including winding rivers, a variety of trailheads, and—you guessed it—waterfalls! In addition to its natural beauty, Twin Falls is experiencing rapid growth alongside the rest of the Gem State, and with more growth comes new opportunities to live, work, and play. Twin Falls has revitalized its historic downtown in recent years, which is now home to several local shops, restaurants, and a centralized hub for community events. This town is truly a perfect location for city-goers and outdoor enthusiasts alike, and—as a bonus—it continues to maintain a cost-of-living 12.5 percent lower than the national average. Whether you’re starting a new adventure or looking for your forever home, Twin Falls is the place to be.
With the Snake River Canyon nearby, there is never a lack of things to do outside. One of the most iconic landmarks—Shoshone Falls—is a quick 14-minute drive from the city center. These falls stand 212 feet tall and have gained the nickname “Niagara of the West” due to their large scale. However, sightseeing isn’t the only nearby outdoor activity. The Snake River hosts thousands of kayakers and paddleboarders every year. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can paddle 2 miles from the docks located in Centennial Waterfront Park to another local landmark, Pillar Falls. Along the way, you will cross underneath the iconic Perrine Bridge. It’s not uncommon to see a BASE jumper or two make a descent from this architectural marvel, as it’s the only artificial structure in the U.S. where individuals can legally BASE jump year-round. In fact, you too can make the leap with the assistance of Twin Falls’ local BASE centers.
Speaking of leaps, did you know that Twin Falls is home to a famous Evel Knievel jump site? In September 1974, Knievel attempted to jump over the Snake River Canyon using a steam-powered rocket. The ramp he used for this launch can still be seen today from Centennial Trail.
Despite its endless potential for outdoor adventures, Twin Falls also has plenty of attractions within the historic downtown area, including its abundance of hometown businesses. KOTO Brewing Co. is just one of many brewpubs within this district and often hosts live music within its bustling, rustic atmosphere. If you’re more of a morning person, Twin Beans is a local coffee shop that offers a diverse selection of coffees, teas, and crepes for your enjoyment (not to mention, it directly neighbors KickBack’s downtown office). There is also a selection of furniture, clothing, and kitchen supply stores to browse through, including a pop-up farmer’s market along Main Street during the summer months. Additionally, downtown Twin Falls hosts various community-wide events throughout the year, such as Western Days, the Twin Falls Tonight Concert Series, Magic Valley Beer Fest, and much more.
Although Twin Falls has its own spectacles, there are plenty of nearby locations worth visiting should you need a quick break from the city. Southern Idaho is home to a handful of national landmarks like Balanced Rock Park, Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve, and the Shoshone Ice Caves, among many others. Box Canyon and Blue Heart Springs are also favorites among local nature lovers, featuring calm blue waters accompanied by lush green landscapes. In the winter months, there are various ski resorts located within an hour and a half of Twin Falls. Not much of a skier or snowboarder? Tubing is another available option at many locations! Finally, if you’re looking for a temporary change of pace, Jackpot, Nevada, is located 46 miles south of Twin Falls and is a popular casino destination for many Idaho residents.
Twin Falls is a fast-growing city packed full of opportunities for you to explore. With the great outdoors just an arm’s reach away, a dynamic and community-centric downtown scene, and a thriving local economy, this city is the perfect location to live and work. On behalf of KRS, we welcome you to start your next adventure with us amongst the City of Waterfalls. Endless wonders await you in our little corner of Idaho.
